Service Engineer- Transformers 08/11 thru 8/15 .

Responsible for all installation of Transformers coming from Mexico from 90/120/150MVA, 115/230kV. Responsibilities include but not limited to, review contact, generate scope letter, solicit scope letter to various contractors, hire contractor, supervise the installation on site anywhere from Alaska to Hawaii to New York, ability to make decisions while on site to make sure on time and on budget completion. Throughout my tenure with WEG Transformers I have successfully completed over 100 installations. Six Sigma yellow belt certified.

 

WEG Electric.  Drives Dept.

Sr. Mechanical Designer  05/10 thru 07/11.

Standardize specialist for the GPH2 product line. Generate electrical schematics, BOM ‘s and mechanical panels layouts using AutoCad Electrical 2009. All enclosures are now pre punched and pre-drilled so manufacturing time was reduced by approx. 50%. Developed AutoCad standard files to improve overall engineering efficiency. Design panels for various product lines, Soft Starter to Medium Drives.

 

 

Siemens Energy & Automation.  Power Conversion Division

Sr. Mechanical Designer 04/99 thru 02/02,  and 01/03 thru 08/09.

Lead Mechanical Designer for Sinamics G150 and S120 product group. Responsible for Electrical  Schematics, Outline Diagram, Assembly Drawings, Terminal Arrangement, Component Layout , Ratings Plates, and Engraved Lamacoid labels.  Bus Bar design, various sheet metal parts, pre-drilled panels and overall arrangement of this multi standard line-up. Responsible for the Mechanical design of custom power system group line-up. Managed projects, assist sales and marketing for Remote I/O’s, Master Drives, PLC’s. Support engineering with daily responsibilities and ever changing conditions. Prepare specifications for bids, evaluate bids and make recommendations. Estimate labor and material requirements for engineering projects. Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of projects within budget and within budgeted hours. Coordinate input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and or perceptions. Trained and mentored lower level team members. Very proficient with AutoCAD 2000 thru 2010.

 

GE-Hitachi HVB. Sr. Mechanical Designer/Field Service Technician 05/96 thru 04/99.

Gas insulated switchgear designer using AutoCAD R14. Ability to take existing design from Hitachi and improve on the GIS design. Promoted to Field Service in January 1997, primary responsible for going out in the field and installing Gas Insulating Switchgear as well as helping with testing. Experience with the operation of the Cryoquip Gas Cart, degassing, pulling vacuum, and regassing. My assignments have taken me throughout the world, China, Beirut, Brazil, Lawrence Livermore. I coordinated and managed staffing teams at the jobsite and adjusted staffing levels as needed. Review customers contracts  and assignments objectives, assisted in planning to satisfy ever changing conditions. Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning conditions and actions taken on a daily basics.

Using AutoCAD 13designed and drafted detailed construction drawing and specification used in planning and constructed of engineering projects such as glazing (building) construction (store front, curtain wall, etc) for architect and contractor approval. Reviewed rough sketches, drawings and other engineering data received from application engineer to produce shop drawings including elevations. details, key plans and revisions. Generated material and accessory take-offs. Maintained CAD library of system documentation and standard symbols.
